Ada M. Mcgonigal

ADA M. McGONIGAL, age 82, of Havre de Grace, died in Hydes, Md, at the home of her daughter on April 29, 2004. Born in Havre de Grace, she was the daughter of the late Alton Lee and Nellie May Mitchell Ross, and the wife of the late Joseph R. McGonigal, Sr. A life long resident of Harford County, she was a 1939 graduate of Havre de Grace High School. In addition to her own 12 children, she raised 7 others. She attended Smith Chapel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, reading, cooking, Cal Ripken, Alan Jackson, and Jeff Gordon. She also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and playing the slots.

Mrs. McGonigal is survived by five sons, James Wilson; Joseph “J.R.” McGonigal; Michael Lewis McGonigal; John McGonigal; Thomas McGonigal, all of Aberdeen; seven daughters, Trudy Lambert of Hydes; Joanne Ayres of Churchville; Mary Miller of Aberdeen; Kathleen Sampson of Havre de Grace; Marion Beers of Havre de Grace; Shirley Ream of Airville, Pennsylvania; Bonnie Kadera of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 33 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
