A. Lillian Mears

A. LILLIAN MEARS, age 96, of Parkton, died at Gilchrist Center at GBMC on February 25, 2006. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William Arthur Parsons and the late Helen Winfield French Gwynne and the wife of the late William H. Mears whom she married in 1928 and who died in 2003. She was retired from Harford County Board of Education where she was a baker. She was a member of the Bel Air United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a superintendent. She was a member and past president of the Bel Air Homemakers. She was an avid knitter and traveled with her husband extensively after retirement.

Mrs. Mears is survived by a daughter, Shirley M. Whitehurst of Parkton, MD; three grandchildren, William G. Whitehurst of Glen Rock, PA. Susan E. Stainbrook of Marietta, GA, and Abaya J. Onukuri of Cincinnati, OH; four great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.
