A. GORMAN PUMPHREY, age 91, of Glen Arm, Maryland, died at his residence at Glen Meadows on November 16, 2003. Born in Severn, Maryland, he was the son of the late Alpheus and Mazie Rogers Pumphrey, and the husband of the late Jean Lentz Pumphrey. He had retired after 31 years of service with the U.S. Government at Aberdeen Proving Ground serving as the Chief of the Supply Divison. He was a life member of the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Company, the past president of the Kingsville/Perry Hall Lions Club; past president of the Kingsville Community Association; and an active member of Salem United Methodist Church in Upper Falls, Maryland. He was an avid golfer and bowler.
Mr. Pumphrey is survived by one son, Earl “Bud” Pumphrey and his wife, Barbara N. of Fallston; two grandchildren, Todd A. Pumphrey of Joppa and his fiancee, Dawn Reineke of Joppa; and Kevin M. Pumphrey and his wife, Amy H. of Joppa.
Pallbearers will be: Todd Pumphrey, Kevin Pumphrey, Ric Powell, George Dryer, Doug Maynard and Drew De Van. Honorary pallbearer will be: Tom Dannettel.
