A. EDWARD SNODGRASS, Jr. , a lifelong Bel Air resident died on August 24, 2004
from complications due to a pituitary tumor followed by a stroke. He was 64. He retired after a long and successful career as Chief, Research and Development Division within the Directorate of Contracting at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Born October 27, 1939, he was the beloved son of the late Alvin E. and Rebecca
Snodgrass of 2014 Emmorton.
Mr. Snodgrass attended the Emmorton School and was a 1957 graduate of Bel Air High School. He attended Harford Community College and Georgia Tech.
As a young man, he was an active volunteer for the Harford Community College local theater, worked as a projectionist at the Bel Air Theatre on Main Street, and was a member of the Mountain Christian Church youth group.
Mr. Snodgrass most recently served on the Board of Directors for the Harford County Historical Society. During that service, he established an Endowment Fund for the benefit of the Society. He was also a member and supporter of numerous organizations, including Isaac Walton League, Children, Inc., the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, The Pride of Baltimore, II, as well as many Baltimore area organizations and museums.
In 1977, he and his wife, Georgia, established Snodgrass Realtors, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Service of Bel Air and Fallston, which they subsequently sold in 1984.
Mr. Snodgrass is survived by his wife of 43 years, Georgia R. Snodgrass of Bel Air; daughters, Lisa Snodgrass of Baltimore; Laura Snodgrass Pohlenz and her husband, Scott of Bel Air; Barbara Thomison Magness of Bel Air; and Carol Thomison Sissom and her husband, Billy of Lake Mary, Florida; five grandchildren, Alex Magness of Stamford, Conn.; Tara and Connor Sissom of Lake Mary, Florida; and Lily and Mary Pohlenz of Bel Air.
Mr. Snodgrass is also survived by his brother, James B. Snodgrass and wife, Donna, and two nephews, Ryan and Robbie Snodgrass of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
