David Arthur Keller

August 12, 1946 — May 29, 2021

David Arthur Keller, age 74, of Colora, MD passed away on May 29, 2021 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD with his loving wife by his side. Born in Baltimore City, Maryland, he was the son of the late William and Lillian (Spindler) Keller and husband of 17 years to Michelle Keller. He was a Maryland State Trooper for over 30 years and was stationed throughout Maryland during his career. He was a K-9 Officer and enjoyed telling stories of his escapades with Storm. After retiring, David worked as the Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Maryland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard having served 20 years, retiring as First Sergeant. He fondly retold of being in Panama and Bosnia and Herzegovina. His favorite assignment was Estonia. David sold Real Estate on the Eastern Shore and was a Licensed Insurance Agent for many years. He was the President of his condo association in Ocean City and President of the HOA board for his neighborhood in Arizona. David and Michelle moved to gilbert, AZ where he was hired as the first Range Master for the Gilbert Police Department.

He was a member of the Masonic Mount Mariah Lodge, serving as Chaplain of his former Lodge, Tuscan Lodge. David was Master Mason of the Year in 2004. David was also a member of the Boumi Shriners and Scottish Rite. He enjoyed working on his cars, cruising in his Street Rods, and always looked forward to connecting with Independence Street Rods, his car club, in York. He also loved fishing, going to Ocean City, being outdoors, and going on adventures. He was a fan of John Wayne and frequently lamented about the lack of Westerns on Saturdays. He loved telling stories about growing up and his work experiences. His favorite place was Hawaii, which he was fortunate enough to return for many trips later in life.

David was a passionate Member of Great Hope Bible Church and found great pleasure in mowing his Church lawn and making sure the Grounds were ready for Sunday morning worship. David enjoyed volunteering at Union Hospital in Elkton, as well.

In addition to his wife, David is survived by his niece, Allison Armiger Tsomos and her husband Larry of Forest Hill, MD; nephews, Jon David Armiger and his wife Carol of Forest Hill, MD, Christian Matthew Armiger and his wife Nancy of Bel Air, MD; step children, Alexander M. Clark of Tucson, AZ, John M. Russo and his wife Kara of Hilliard, OH, Adrienne M. Ryan and her husband David of Rockport, ME; sister in law, Sandra Lachance and her husband Larry of Lisbon Falls, ME; brother in law, John Armiger of Bel Air, MD; numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, grandchildren and his dog, Yarrow.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Gail Keller Armiger and beloved aunt Emma Tully and her husband, Frank Tully.
