1SG Garret Paul Doering (USA Retired), age 73, of Edgewood, MD passed away on February 22, 2013 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Born in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Paul Henry and Mary Doering. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a drill sergeant and served his country in the Vietnam Era and was a member of the American Legion Post 117. He liked to skeet and trap shoot, garden, and was a master griller and enjoyed eating crabs. In his early years he owned a boat and enjoyed boating.

1SG Doering is survived by his wife of 28 years, Judy Doering of Edgewood; sons, Jeffery Paul Doering of Ft. Worth, TX and Eric Doering and his wife, Wendy of Edgewood; daughter, Debbie Lynn Biscarro and her husband, Joe of McKinney, TX; step son, Jay Edwards and his wife, Stephanie of Street, MD; step daughters, Reida Edwards of Joppa and Atalie Shackelford of Bel Air; He had nine natural grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
